About the Clucking Pig
In 2013, owners David and Christine Laing decided to make good use of the free range eggs from their flock of hens housed at their 4 acre small holding, Grewgrass Lodge near Saltburn by the Sea in North Yorkshire.
Their ethos is to use only the best produce they can find, from free range chicken, duck and goose eggs at Grewgrass Lodge to the best free range and rare breed meat which comes from several sources; Anna’s Happy Trotters at Howden, This Little Pig Company in Farndale, Wrefords in Shotton Colliery , to name but a few. Each supplier has the same ethos as David and Christine..... free range, quality of life.
Each gourmet Scotch Egg is handmade, no machinery involved, from the choosing of the eggs, time boiling them, prepping of the meat, and making of the breadcrumbs. The cooking is all done with great care and attention to detail and our testimonials speak for themselves.
