In 2013, owners David and Christine Laing decided to make good use of their 4 acre small holding, Grewgrass Lodge near Saltburn by the Sea in North Yorkshire to start up an artisan food business making Gourmet Scotch Eggs.
Their ethos is to use only the best produce they can find, from free range chicken, duck and goose eggs, to the best free range and rare breed meat which comes from several local sources

Each Gourmet Scotch Egg is handmade, no machinery involved, from the choosing of the eggs, the time boiling them, prepping of the meat, and making of the breadcrumbs. The cooking is all done with great care and attention to detail and our testimonials speak for themselves.
